The minimum wage in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is an important aspect of labor regulations aimed at ensuring fair compensation for workers. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the UAE does not have a federally mandated minimum wage that applies to all sectors and industries. Instead, minimum wage regulations are determined at the individual emirate level.
Each emirate in the UAE has the authority to set its own minimum wage based on factors such as the cost of living, economic conditions, and industry standards. Dubai, for example, introduced a minimum wage in UAE requirement of AED 3,000 per month in 2019 for certain categories of workers, while Abu Dhabi and other emirates may have different minimum wage thresholds.
